1. What credits are
Open Token credits are prepaid units used to pay Open Token API charges. One US dollar of purchased credit represents US$1.00 available toward eligible usage charges. Credits are not a bank deposit, stored-value account, security, or currency; do not earn interest; and cannot be transferred, traded, or redeemed for cash except where this policy or applicable law requires.
2. Purchasing credits
Customer chooses a credit amount at checkout. Any platform or processing fee is itemized before payment and is separate from the credit amount added to the account. Stripe processes payment methods and may request billing details, tax information, or authentication. Credits are added only after payment is confirmed.
Customer authorizes the displayed one-time charge and represents that it may use the selected payment method. Open Token may delay, reject, or reverse funding affected by fraud, error, dispute, failed settlement, or legal restrictions.
3. Using credits
- Platform-key requests consume credits according to the model's displayed input and output token rates.
- BYOK requests consume the displayed Open Token platform fee; the upstream provider separately bills Customer under its own account and agreement.
- Token counts, request records, and prices recorded by Open Token determine charges unless a verifiable metering error occurred.
- Before a request is sent, Open Token may reserve an upper-bound amount and then release the unused portion when actual usage is settled.
- A request may be limited or rejected when the balance or an API-key spending limit is insufficient.
4. Expiration and inactivity
Purchased credits do not currently expire while Customer's account remains active. Promotional or manually granted credits may carry an expiration stated when issued. If Open Token introduces expiration for newly purchased credits, the change will apply prospectively with advance notice and will not shorten the validity of previously purchased credits unless required by law.
5. Refund requests
Credit purchases and checkout fees are generally final once paid. Customer should contact support@getopentoken.com within fourteen days after the charge if it believes there was a duplicate charge, unauthorized payment, incorrect amount, or technical failure that prevented credits from being delivered. The request should identify the company, payment date, amount, and reason.
Open Token may, in its discretion or where required by law, refund unused purchased credits. Used credits, promotional credits, and fees already incurred are not refundable except for a confirmed billing or metering error. Refunds return to the original payment method where feasible and may take additional time to appear.
6. Effect of a refund
When Stripe confirms a partial or full refund, Open Token removes the corresponding purchased credits from Customer's balance. If Customer has already used those credits, the account balance may become negative. Customer must restore a negative balance before further paid usage, and Open Token may suspend access while an amount remains due.
7. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Customer should contact Open Token before initiating a payment dispute so we can investigate. We may suspend the account, preserve relevant records, and remove credits associated with a disputed or reversed charge. Fraudulent or abusive disputes may result in termination and recovery of reasonable costs permitted by law.
8. Account closure and termination
Account closure does not automatically convert credits to cash. If Open Token ends the Services for reasons unrelated to Customer breach, fraud, sanctions, provider restrictions, or unpaid amounts, Open Token will refund the unused portion of purchased credits, less amounts lawfully owed and non-refundable transaction costs, unless another written agreement provides a different remedy.
If Customer requests closure, Open Token may consider a refund of unused purchased credits under Section 5. Promotional credits lapse on closure. Records needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or disputes may be retained after the balance is closed.
9. Taxes and currencies
Checkout is denominated in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Customer is responsible for taxes, duties, bank fees, foreign-exchange costs, and similar charges. Stripe or a card issuer may use a different exchange rate or impose separate fees.
10. Contact
Billing questions and refund requests may be sent to support@getopentoken.com. Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights under applicable law.
